Self acceptance in Christ: Exploring a lost Christian Virtue in a self obsessed world With Amy Boucher Pye We live in a culture where “we’re worth it” and putting yourself first is expected. But although self-help books abound, many Christians struggle to accept who they are – as those greatly loved by God. How can we overcome the sin of self-hatred and step into the virtue of self-acceptance? Join Amy Boucher Pye for an active evening of exploring this vital issue through worship, discussion and prayer. Amy Boucher Pye is a writer and editor and working on her first book, ‘Beloved Am I’. She writes regularly for Christian publications.

Welcome to Shirley Parish Church, Southampton. As the Church of England Parish Church in Shirley we seek to reach out with God's love to those around us. We welcome visitors to our services which are held at St James' and St John's Churches both found on St James Road.
Our main service which is open to all, is at 10.30 am each Sunday at St James Church. We also have a more traditional communion service each week at 8.30 am on Sundays at St John's Church.
We are committed to working through small groups (Cells) which meet mid-week and offer a place of community, worship, outreach and discipleship for our members. We have a large number of children and young people involved in the life of the church. Please take a look at our Youth Website.
