As the Church of England Parish Church in Shirley we seek to reach out with God's love to those around us. We welcome visitors to our services which are held at St James' and St John's Churches both found on St James Road in Shirley, Southampton.
Our main service which is open to all, with provision for children, is at 10.30 am each Sunday at St James. We also have a more traditional communion service each week at 8.30 am on Sundays at St John's.
Sunday evenings are now used for celebrations, special services and training courses.
We are committed to working through small groups (Cells) which meet mid-week and offer a place of community, worship, outreach and discipleship for our members. We have a large number of children and young people involved in the life of the church. Click here for our Youth Website PLUG.
‘Learning from Jesus – Living for Jesus’ is our mission statement. We are conscious that there is a large gap between the dynamic attractiveness of Jesus and his teaching, and most people’s perception of church. We are seeking to bridge that gap in our experience, as we are called to be the Body of Christ in our community.

Our vision is that ‘through us God will touch our community with the love of Jesus.’ We have a long way to go – but this is the direction we are travelling. To help us in this we are developing our Church Community to become Cell-based, operating in small groups which can support our Christian lives and effectively network with our society, as well as gathering together on to worship Sundays.
